Graffito of the week
March 16, 2007
Carved five times into the window of a bus. Ah, Dublin.

In a stunning display of good judgement, a Turkish court has decided to ban access to YouTube for all Turkish citizens. Because they’ll never figure a way around that, will they? Conclusive proof that calling people gay is still a viable political tactic though.
I had mixed feelings about the eviction of Ungdomshuset and the subsequent riots - riots are generally a bad thing in my book. However, the timing of the demolition of the historic building seems to be something of a calculated slap in the face to anyone who has been involved in the labour movement, and more particularly the women’s movement.
What better time to tear down the building that hosted the first international women’s conference almost a century ago, which established international women’s day? Why, the week of international women’s day of course.
These footballers could learn a thing or two from the anarchists (and the riot police, of course.)
I was wrong about that there irrational exuberance in them thar hills. I read this article yesterday, and it’s, like, totally reassuring. I’m just amazed that Jim doesn’t mention the phrase ’soft landing’ until two-thirds of the way through the article.
However, I subsequently found this, which shows decreases in asking prices on myhome.ie over a period of 4 days. Not so good.
